Mining Masterclass - taxation, social and environmental costs and the UK Bribery Act
Chris Morgan presented a paper entitled 'Planning for Taxation' at a forum promoted by MinSouth / Association of Mining Analysts in London attended by 120 people.
The Paper addressed the principles of taxation as driven by the specifics of a long term mining venture often to be found in countries with poorly developed legal frameworks and tax regulations. The presentation went onto describe some solutions to achieve a stable and lasting relationship with the local authorities and to ensure that difficulties such as windfall profits tax are avoided. A copy of the paper is available to download in the "Contact us" section of this website.
