Description
CMA was instructed by Noranda Brascan subsidiary CESBRA to lead a team of experts in evaluating the long-term effects of open cast mining techniques and tin processing facilities in this environmentally sensitive area of Brazil. The work culminated in an Environmental Impact Assessment.
Identification of heavy metal residues and barren mined out areas led to the gravity re-treatment of waste and the establishment of a plant nursery to produce hardy plants for reinstatement purposes.
