Description
One of CMA's geologists was project manager to an IMC Mackay & Schnellmann team, which had been instructed to carry out feasibility studies on the following mineral desposits located in remote parts of Greece:
- Two lignite deposits at Amyntion, near Florina
- Numerous kaolin deposits on Lesvos Island
- Perlite deposits on Lesvos Island
- Mixed soda-potash feldspar deposits in central northern Greece
- A wollastonite deposit in eastern Greece
- A silica sand deposit in northern Greece
- A clay deposit in central northern Greece
The work involved:
- Geological mapping and exploration
- Drilling and sampling
