Description

Following the establishment of the United Nations Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) CMA was asked to visit Pristina for discussions with UNMIK’s Pillar IV in order to outline ideas for the rehabilitation and privatisation of the state mining company, Trepca, as well as to introduce a more rigorous environmental framework for the mining sector.

The work involved proposals from specialist constitutional and environmental lawyers and was incorporated into the new Mining Code for Kosovo.
