Description

CMA staff directed a World Bank-funded multifaceted project providing assistance to the Ministry of Mines to develop Zambia’s mining industry.

The project included:

• Developing a mining policy and new mining legislation
• Proposing suitable institutional strengthening arrangements and training
• Producing geological maps
• Setting up a gold assay laboratory
• Establishing a database for mining titles and statistical data
