CMA was engaged on behalf of the UK Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to perform an Assessment of Market Opportunities for UK Cleaner Coal Technologies in Turkey. CMA collaborated with PB Power to plan and undertake an in-country assessment that would cover appraisal of coal extraction methods and delivery qualities to consumers, the market and technologies applied to coal combustion and also a specific focus on the coal-fired power generation industry and technologies to enhance thermal performance and reduce emissions.
The project involved collaboration between the project team, ETSU on behalf of the DTI, UK Cleaner Coal Technology Programme manufacturers, Turkish state sector energy agencies (the Power Generation agency TEAS, the Hard Coal Mining Company TTK and the state lignite mining corporation TKI) and also private sector companies engaged in the development of integrated lignite power generation projects.
Interim findings were presented in a workshop held in Turkey and final conclusions were presented in the UK in a widely distributed report and public workshop. A conclusion of the project was the identification of a number of installations that offered specific commercial opportunities for UK suppliers and manufacturers.Return to list of past projects
